Men’s Division I National Polls: January 6, 2014

Following the winter holiday break, Minnesota remains the team to beat in NCAA Men’s Division I hockey.

The January 6, 2014 national polls have Minnesota No. 1 overall, capturing 42 first-place votes in the USCHO.com poll and all 34 in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll.

UMass Lowell comes in at No. 8 in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll and No. 9 in the USCHO.com poll. Only slight movement from the previous poll after going 1-0-1 against Clarkson this past weekend.

Hockey East is making their stamp on the national polls this weekend with 7-of-11 schools in the USCHO.com top-20 poll and 4-of-11 coming in on the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine top-15 poll, while 8-0f-11 schools received votes in both polls.

Other Hockey East schools making the national polls this week were: Boston College (6/4), Providence (6/6), Notre Dame (15/15), Northeastern (16/RV), Vermont (18/RV), New Hampshire (20/RV) and Maine (RV/RV).
