UMass Lowell remains a top-10 team in national polls

Connor-Hellebuyck

The Minnesota Golden Gophers remain the top team in the country for the seventh straight week having sat in the No. 1 overall position since taking it over on October 21, 2013.

UMass Lowell had the weekend off after a two-game sweep over Notre Dame the weekend before. With no games over the weekend, the River Hawks remain a top-10 team in the USCHO.com and USA Today / USA Hockey Magazine polls.

The main reason the River Hawks have moved up to No. 7 in the USCHO.com poll and No. 6 in the USA Today / USA Hockey Magazine poll is because of the stumbling Boston College who fell to Holy Cross over the weekend in their first ever loss to an Atlantic Hockey school.

Other Hockey East schools in this week’s polls are Providence, Boston College, Notre Dame, New Hampshire and Northeastern.

Boston University, Vermont and Maine each received votes in the USCHO.com poll, while New Hampshire and Northeastern picked up votes in the USA Today / USA Hockey Magazine poll.
